New Production of Steptoe and Son
To mark 55 years since the original broadcast, we’ve been entrusted to recreate classic episodes of the superlative Steptoe and Son.
Written by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson, the series ran for 12 years from 1962-1974 and hit a grand total of 58 episodes. Popular ever since, Steptoe famously broke new ground for the sitcom genre, incorporating a bittersweet tragicomic scenario between a pair of rag-and-bone-men, who were, of course, father and son.
We’ve been given the go-ahead to stage three original episodes and, after a delve through the G&S archive and a recent online poll through our mailing list and facebook/twitter followers, we’ll be announcing the episode titles shortly!
In the meantime, thank you for all your continuing support. 2016 has been a fabulous year so far with new writing from Murder on the Oriental Princess, a new production of Anthony Shaffer’s classic Sleuth and we’re seeing out the year in style with a whopping 50+ venue UK tour of our flagship show – Just Like That!
