We’re also excited to announce developments for our next, brand new production – A Fistful of Spaghetti. This spoof western, written by John Hewer (STOP!… You’re Killing Me, A Hard to Follow, An Apple A Day) will tour the Lincolnshire area in October 2015.
We’ve sold out our show this Friday at the Spilsby Theatre. But we’ve added a Saturday matinee (1.30pm show start). Bookings are now being taken either in person at the theatre, via our Booking Page or by calling 01472 388019.
Hot on the heels of two successive writing workshops, Louth Playgoers are teaming up with local professional theatre company Hambledon Productions for another exciting summer of new writing.
Led by professional playwright John Hewer (B.A. Hons. Drama and Scriptwriting, and graduate of the Royal Court Young Writers’ Programme and Soho Theatre’s Writers’ Lab), the course consists of 8 weekly sessions exploring structure, devising plot and characters, genre, writing for other media and taking your writing to the next level.
The course will also mark the return of the excellent Scratch Night, where the writers will have a sample of their work performed in front of an audience, who in turn get to vote for their favourite piece. The winning writer will then get the opportunity to have their completed play produced on behalf of the society in 2016.
Sessions begin on Sunday 28th June at the Riverhead Theatre, and will continue weekly, finishing 30th August.
The course is open to those aged 15+ and is for anyone regardless of previous experience and is priced at just £40. All you need is a strong desire to write plus a pen and paper!
To reserve a place (maximum number of 6 participants), please call the Riverhead Theatre on 01507 600350 or visit the box office, open 10am-1pm, Monday to Saturday.
After a four-month residency at the new Museum of Comedy in London, where show picked up fantastic reviews and enjoyed sell-out performances and standing ovations, the show is “returning to its roots” with a regional tour of Lincolnshire.
